Welcome to The Twelve Days of Puzzlemas 2019!
This is a series of twelve daily puzzles that will be published either side of Christmas 2019, starting on 19th December. These puzzles are special and come with no solving instructions attached. You need to figure out what to do for yourselves! If and/or when you do get stuck, three hints for each puzzle will be released, one per day after each particular puzzle.
As well as the twelve daily puzzles, there is a ‘metapuzzle’, in two parts, that brings everything together. The first part of the metapuzzle will be released at the start of The 12 Days of Puzzlemas on 19th December, so make sure you also download that along with Day 1’s puzzle – hints for this will be given out from Day 4 (22nd Dec) onwards. The second part of the metapuzzle will be released along with Day 12’s puzzle on 31st December, with hints for it starting on New Years Day. If you wish to prove to me that you have solved all of Puzzlemas, you can email the final answer (and individual answers if you like) to puzzles@danielpeake.com. There are no prizes, but you will get my admiration, which is priceless.
I started writing these puzzles in July and have put a great deal of time and effort into them. If you enjoy Puzzlemas then I would love it if you gave a donation to say thank you. Donations in mulitples of £3 can be given using the button below. Anything you do give is hugely appreciated.
If you like these puzzles, then you will also like my Puzzle Page magazine. Click here to go to it or click “PUZZLE PAGE” in the banner at the top of the screen.

Cathy and Tom have been absolutely amazing, playtesting and proofing all the puzzles and hints in The 12 Days of Puzzlemas. I couldn’t have done it without them – they will be getting a cut of any donations you do give. Please visit their site – https://idleloop.com/puzzles – to see the fun puzzles they’ve come up with (‘Eyes’ in this year’s DASH, for example). Puzzlemas would only be half as good without them, and it would be riddled with errors. Thank you Cathy and Tom!
Day 2 – ‘Hygenic’ is spelt incorrectly (it should be hygienic – honestly, who made the decision to spell it like that?!), but IT WILL REMAIN this way for various reasons.
