Welcome to Puzzlevent 2022!
It’s back! This advent calendar is a month-long cryptic crossword. From December 1, three new cryptic clues will be released daily, but without saying how long their answers are or where they go in the grid – that information gets revealed over time. On December 25, 10 clues will be revealed instead as a bumper treat.

Foggy Brume writes a whole range of variety puzzles, specialising in “puzzle hunt” style puzzles, i.e. ones with a twist. He has produced almost 100 issues of his magazine at pandamagazine.com, and if you’ve seen any of my Puzzle Boat streams on Twitch, you’ll know just how much I recommend them. WIN TWO PUZZLE BOXES BY THE DETECTIVE SOCIETY!
The Detective Society have produced four brilliant series of puzzle boxes – play at home series of puzzles like mini escape rooms. Each box usually takes around two hours to play, and comes with a range of physical items, and you’ll end up interacting with websites, emails, maybe even a phone number or two as well. Great puzzles and very wittily written – I have done the first four “seasons” of puzzles on Twitch and you can darn well bet I’ll be streaming their fifth when it comes out in 2023.
