Welcome to Puzzlevent!
This is a puzzle Advent calendar – a new puzzle will be revealed each day from 1-25 December to stimulate your brain. These are not your normal puzzles, but ones that are unique, a little bit… interesting. Research could well be required for some.
Puzzles will first be released each morning on my twitter account, @danielpeake, and will appear here later in the day.
If you get stuck, 3 hints will be released after a period of time has elapsed, one hint 3, 4 and 5 days after the puzzle is published. The final puzzle will be published on Christmas Day (this year on 25th December, you know), and the final hints will be given out on 30th December.
There is an overall answer to all the puzzles – when you think you have it, please email puzzlevent@danielpeake.com to see if you are correct! There is no prize to be won, just bragging rights that you solved it all. You are also welcome to email puzzlevent@danielpeake.com to check answers to all puzzles, but please bear in mind that I am doing this manually so it may take a while to receive a response. I promise to get back to you as soon as I can.
I will give you until the end of 2018 to email me with any answers you have before I wrap things up and call it a year, so Puzzlevent will run until 31st December (inclusive). Answers will be published soon after. Good luck, happy solving, and do spread the word about Puzzlevent!!
If you are enjoying Puzzlevent, or equally if it is causing you madness and frustration, then please consider donating a little money to me! Fun fact: I started work on this at the end of July and have been putting in many evenings and weekends of hard work for four months getting this feast ready for you all, so anything you can give via the button below would be massively appreciated!
ERRATUM FOR DAY 6: Day 6’s puzzle should have had the word SALESMEN on the right hand side, not SALESMAN. This does not affect the solution for Day 6 itself…
ERRATUM FOR DAY 13: I’ve accidentally switched the numerals in brackets. (I,II) should be (II,I), (III,IV) should be (IV,III), and so on.
